Springtime is gorgeous here. Fall Merriam turkey hunting starts Sept. 1st and ends Dec. 31st. You can do a combination hunt with upland gamebird or deer or predators. We offer guided hunts for Merriam turkeys on private land in the Plains and Pine Ridge area of Western NE near the town of Hay Springs, Nebraska.The expert experience of your guide and your willingness to go that extra mile as you patiently wait and diligently call, can be part of your hunting success as you bag your Merriam. Our turkey hunter's success rate in the past has been about 99.99%(which includes the one that the hunter wrestled to the ground...true story!).

Nebraska is home to the Merriam turkey and Ash Creek Outfitters offers hunts in two locations in Nebraska. All locations locations have thriving and abundant populations of wild turkeys. The NE turkey season have both fall and spring seasons for both archery and shotgun hunters. This allows for an abundance of hunting opportunities throughout the year. Fall hunts will use the spot and stalk method while the spring hunts will use the same method with the addition of decoys and calling. This hunt usually runs a success rate of 95% to 100% and an extra day can be added for a fee.

Cedar Valley Hunt club is offering for the first time Spring Turkey Hunting. We have not offered turkey hunts for our first 10 years of operation. Spring Turkey season 2010 was the first opportunity that we allowed Turkey hunting. Both turkey hunts that we hosted were to kids on their first turkey hunt. Both of them shot their Turkeys on the first day of their hunts. Chantelle, age 12 shot nice mature Tom weighing in at 23 pounds, with 10 1/2 inch beard and 1 1/2 inch spurs. Grant shot a Tom weighing in just over 21 pounds with a 7 inch beard - spurs had not been measured. We have a great group of mature Toms running the property. They had a fantastic hatch this spring and many turkey have been seen through out the year.

Welcome to Fox Creek Outdoors. We have recently acquired approximately 11,000 acres of prime turkey hunting ground in Southwest Nebraska near Curtis, NE. It is common to see them in numbers of 50+ until later during the nesting period. Late season Toms will number from individuals up to a flock of about 10. Males with 8-9 inch beards is also common.

Run and gun and call when the run and gun and calling is working, otherwise we sit in core-high traffic areas if the calling isn’t working so we aren’t burning up our properties trying to call in uninterested Toms. We also have 10-20 ground blinds set-up throughout the entire turkey season for use during archery or shotgun season, we will also use these on rainy days to keep us active and productive in the woods.
