Michelson Ranch

Overview

The ranch is located in Western South Dakota with very good habitat for turkeys. Cedar Canyon is a natural wooded canyon that runs through the ranch and is home to a large number of Merriam turkeys. During the winter, much of the population can be seen gleaning grain from the livestock feed bunks, but in the spring of the year, they scatter into the canyon. Past hunters have enjoyed the challenge of calling them in and have harvested some very nice birds
